Uitgelicht: de roodborst

ROODBORST 

Om de een of andere manier gebruiken we altijd het verkleinwoord voor de roodborst. Roodborstjes zorgen veelal voor een eigen territorium in bosrijk gebied. Hier is voldoende voedsel te vinden voor de dieren en er is meer beschutting tegen roofdieren.

Vanuit Noord-Europa krijgen we roodborsten (..) die ook in Nederland overwinteren. Het zijn vooral deze die je dan in je tuin ziet.

EUROPEAN ROBIN

Somehow the Dutch always use the diminutive for the european robin. European robins usually create their own territory in wooded areas. There is enough food for them and more shelter against predators.

From northern Europe we get robins (..) that hibernate in the Netherlands. These are mainly the ones that you will see in your garden.
